The Lost Art of Peanut Percussion

Sit for a while and listen to the folk music of Monique Belisle, raconteur and French Canadian musician extraordinaire. Oral History tape courtesy of the Rhode Island Historical Society.

All the music in the piece is performed by Monique, Christy, Dena, and Priscilla and recorded by Geraldine. A few short clips are included of Monique’s friend, Paul Pelletier, on the violin, and Le Vent du Nord’s foot percussion.
